FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE MAMA General Membership Meeting on 11/9/04MAMA members agree to mooring registration & winter pole removal programDuring a general membership meeting attended by approximately 25 members of MAMA, MAMA's general counsel was authorized to meet with Coast Guard Group Milwaukee on November 16, 2004 for the purpose of working out an agreement that would allow the continued use of winter poles to mark moorings. The members agreed that MAMA should implement a mooring registration system that would facilitate the transfer of apparently abandoned moorings to the general public. MAMA was also authorized to use the revenue from mooring registration fees to purchase mooring buoys and to pay vendors to exchange winter poles with proper mooring buoys during the summer sailing season.
